Obsessed gamers possess reactions and mental skills of a fighter pilot, but the body of a sixty-year old chain smoker, a study conducted by at the University of Essex claims.
Dr. Dominic Micklewright analyzed the psychological and physical skills of elite gamers and compared them with that of top athletes.
The study showed that the psychological and reaction skills of gamers could match even those of fighter pilots, but their fitness levels very poor.
One of the gamers tested by the professor had the lung function and aerobic fitness of a sixty-year old chain smoker.

State Board Approves $50 Million Spending on Machines for Casino
On Wednesday, the state board accepted a $49 million contract for purchasing 1,000 slot machines for a casino, making it the first in Maryland.
The proposal for approving the contract was voted 2-1 by the Board of Public Works, along with six different vendors who planned for the casino near Interstate 95 in Perryville in Cecil County.
The price to buy 1,062 machines and blanket, besides the installation and maintenance, has been included in the contract.

Higher rate of capital gains tax could hit prices: Nationwide
UK coalition government’s plans to lift capital gains tax (CGT) may hurt recovery in house prices as figures released by Nationwide Building Society shows that average house prices jumped just 0.5 per cent in May as compared with an increase of 1.1 per cent in the previous month.
Average house prices in the UK jumped from £167,802 in April to settle at £169,162 in May. The figure dragged the annual rate of inflation in the housing market down from 10.5 per cent to 9.8 per cent, which reflects the weaker pace of price rise in May 2010 as compared with the year ago period.
FSA slaps JPMorgan with a record fine of £33.32m
Britain's financial regulator, the FSA, has ordered JPMorgan Chase to pay a record fine of £33.32million for failing to properly separate clients’ money from its own.
The FSA said clients’ funds which should have been held in trust for corporate clients were mingled with bank’s own cash. Had the bank run into difficulties or been declared insolent, clients might have lost their money.
As per reports, an average of £6 billion of clients' money was wrongly mixed with the bank's own cash on a daily basis. At one point the figure jumped to £16 billion.
Expedia and Microsoft join forces to launch new version of IE8
Travel website Expedia has joined forces with software giant Microsoft to launch a version of web browser Internet Explorer 8 for travel enthusiasts.
The new version of IE8 customised Webslices application that provides web users with access to content on Expedia website without opening new tabs and search.

Indian scientists have claimed that mobile phones are responsible for the death of millions of bees and the collapse of their colonies.
Scientists at Punjab University, Chandigarh, performed an experiment on three bee-hives. They placed a couple of mobile phones around a bee-hive and a couple of fake mobile phones around another. The third hive had no mobile phone. Calls were made to the mobile phones two times a day for 15 minutes.
E-books will outsell paper books in 5 years: Sonyfeat
Sony has forecast that sales of e-books will surpass those of paper books within the next five years.
Sony’s Digital Reading Unit’s President Steve Haber said the patterns seen by the company in the digitization of music and photography were being repeated in the books market.
Three years ago Mr. Haber had estimated that it would take ten years for e-books to outsell paper books, but now he believes that it would take only half of the previously estimated time.
